Mulank (मूलांक) comes from the day of birth alone. Born on the 14th: 1+4 = 5. It reflects personal temperament — how you work, decide, and deal with people.
Bhagyank (भाग्यांक) comes from the full date of birth. Example: 14 October 1985 gives 1+4+1+0+1+9+8+5 = 29, then 2+9 = 11, then 1+1 = 2. It shows the broader direction of life and work.
A person with Mulank 5 and Bhagyank 2 is a natural trader (Mercury) whose long-term success comes through relationships and trust (Moon).
1 (Sun) — Natural leaders who prefer to run their own show. Suited to independent ventures, government-facing businesses, and anything requiring authority. Watch for ego clashes with partners.

Most Indian practitioners prefer the Chaldean system, which uses values 1 to 8 (9 is treated as sacred and not assigned).

Write the business name as it will appear on the board and registration, give each letter its value from the Chaldean or Pythagorean chart, add all the values and reduce the total to a single digit. Indian practitioners mostly use the Chaldean chart. The compound total before reduction is also read, because some compound numbers are considered more fortunate than others.
There is no single lucky number for everyone. Numbers 1, 3, 5 and 6 are generally considered good for commerce, with 5 favoured for trade and 3 for education. The best number for you depends on your Mulank, your Bhagyank and the type of business, so a name that suits one owner can be neutral for another.
Not without careful thought. A name change carries real costs in branding, registration and customer recognition. Often a small spelling adjustment or a well-chosen tagline is enough. If an existing name has served you well for years, it may be best to keep it and use numerology for launch dates and new ventures instead.
